Checking the time…
- Entry's free. You only pay for food and drink.
- Card & Apple Pay only — no cash. The bar and every stall are card-only.
- One QR code each. Everyone in your booking has their own.
Pack for a day in the sun.
- A hat and sunscreen. There's limited shade on the lawn.
- A picnic rug. Find a patch of grass and make a day of it.
- Any food you'd like. Bring a picnic — something that will complement our barbie and all the great vendors!
- Non-alcoholic drinks. Soft drinks and water are welcome.
- Your own games. Bat, ball, frisbee, whatever you fancy.
- Photo ID. Only if you're drinking — 21+ gets you a wristband at check-in.
- BYO alcohol. It's a public park and we'd lose the permit.
- Cash. Nothing takes it. Card and Apple Pay only.

Getting in
Everyone in your booking has their own QR code — not one code for the group. Have yours open on your phone before you get to the check-in desk and we'll scan you straight through.
Can't find it? It's in the email we sent when you booked. Search your inbox for “Big Aussie BBQ”. If it's really gone, come to the desk anyway and we'll look you up.
Having a drink
Drinking? You'll need an official government ID showing you're over 21 — that gets you a red 21+ wristband at check-in.
Alcohol has to stay in the bar area. No wandering off with it, sorry — that's the permit, not us being precious.
Money
Card and Apple Pay only. No cash, anywhere — not at the bar, not at the food stalls.
Entry is free. You only pay for what you eat and drink.
Kids
It's a family day — bring them. There's a kids' corner with games, a playground attached to the venue, and plenty of lawn to run it out of them.
It's August in New York
It'll be hot and there's limited shade on the lawn. Hat and sunscreen, and there's a water refill point marked on the map.

Accessibility
The park is step-free from the street and the paths are sealed. There's an accessible toilet marked on the map.
Need a hand with anything — a seat in the shade, a clearer route, a quieter spot? Find a volunteer. That's what we're here for.
Getting here
Rockefeller Park is on the Hudson in Battery Park City. Closest subway is Chambers St (1, 2, 3, A, C) — walk west toward the water, about ten minutes.
Check-in is down the ramp from the Pavilion. Driving's a headache down here and parking's worse, so take the train.
If the internet's cactus
A few thousand of us are sharing one cell tower, so things get slow. This page keeps working once it's loaded — screenshot your QR code now and you won't need signal at check-in.
On the way out
Take your rubbish with you. The park's lent to us for the day and we'd like it back next year.
The whole thing is volunteer-run. If someone in a lanyard made your day easier, tell them. Ta.
